Growing

Berkeley AcupuncturePre-Natal Care and Support

“A pregnant woman carries with her the finest piece of Jade [the baby/babies]. She should enjoy all things, look at fine pictures and be attended by handsome servants.” ~ From the ancient chinese text, Admonitions to Ladies.

All thought we aren’t all lucky enough to be attended by handsome servants, we can all take some time out to nurture ourselves before baby arrives. Pregnancy is a special time in a woman’s life. She is growing a precious being inside her body. While the journey can be uncomfortable and overwhelming at times from physical and hormonal changes, there is a lot that acupuncture can do to bring comfort to the mother, naturally, safely and without drugs or side effects. Many doctors send their patients to us for help with morning sickness, breech babies and late labor. Below are some of the conditions that can be helped with acupuncture:

  • Late labor/Labor induction
  • breech baby
  • Morning sickness
  • Fatigue
  • Constipation
  • Headaches
  • Swollen ankles
  • Anxiety
  • Back pain
  • Heart burn

One of our popular services is The Berkeley Acupuncture Center Labor Preparation Service. These 4-treatment labor preparation visits are designed to ready your body for labor. We do a Chinese medical assessment and then the visits are designed to harmonize, strengthen and re-balance the body so that labor starts on time, is quick and efficient. We have been so successful with this treatment that if you are late starting labor we will do your acupuncture labor induction for free. Call the office for more information on this service.
